
No. 16 Softball Falls to Ohio State Friday

CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 16 ranked University of Missouri softball fell to Ohio State, 7-2, in the second day of the 2025 Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield Friday at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
With the loss, Mizzou drops to 5-4 in 2025 while Ohio State improves to 5-1.
Missouri jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI double from senior Taylor Ebbs. The Keizer, Oregon, native, went 1-for-3 at the plate with a season-best two RBI (third time in 2025). It marked her second double in as many games.
The Buckeyes would cut the margin in half in the home side of the first before pulling ahead with a six-run fourth inning (7-2).
Julia Crenshaw (1-for-2, run and a walk), Kara Daly (1-for-3, run), Claire Cahalan (1-for-2) and Saniya Hill (1-for-1) each had a hit Friday.
For Crenshaw, she extended her reached base streak to five games (four-game hitting streak). She now has 97 career hits at Mizzou.
For Hill, a freshman from Godley, Texas, the pinch-hit single was her first career knock at Missouri.
Starter Cierra Harrison (2-2) was assessed the loss, allowing seven runs on seven hits with a season-best matching six strikeouts over three innings.
Nathalie Touchet pitched a career-best 3.0 innings of relief work, limiting OSU to four hits and no runs with a strikeout.

- Mizzou will next conclude the 2025 Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield Saturday with a pair of games on Field 9 of the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
- MU will face Liberty at 9:30 a.m., CT on SEC Network before a 12:30 p.m., CT meeting with San Diego State on ESPN+.
