
Day Two in the Books for Tennis at SDSU Fall Classic

Mizzou tennis finished competition Saturday at the San Diego State Fall Classic, Nov. 8. The Tigers were featured in the semifinals for both doubles and singles play.
Duo Andrea Artimedi/Mary Brumfield began the morning with a win over Stanford's Emma Sun and Morgan Shaffer. Zoe Lazar/Korina Roso also pulled away with a victory over Colorado State. Alex Ackman/Julie Bedard were unable to earn a win in the East draw stage over Hanna Haber and Annika Planinsek from Colorado State.
In singles play, graduate student Mary Brumfield was unable to take a win from University of San Diego's Maria Shmakova. Senior Andrea Artimedi bested her Colorado State opponent in straight sets, 7-6 (5), 6-2. Sophomore Korina Roso earned a victory over Alejandra Hidalgo Vega from North Carolina Central. Classmate Zoe Lazar also recorded a win over Morgan Shaffer from Stanford University. Continuing in the win column, sophomore Julie Bedard also secured a win over Saint Mary's Madison Weekley.
