ABOUT THE TIGERS
• Missouri finished the 2024-25 season with a 22-12 record, placing sixth in a SEC that sent 14 teams to the NCAA Tournament with a 10-8 record.
• The Tigers earned their second bid in three years to the NCAA Tournament under Dennis Gates.
• MU reached the national tournament as a No. 6 seed – the team's best seeding since 2012.
• Mizzou is the only team in the SEC to return to three starters from last season as Mark Mitchell, Trent Pierce and Anthony Robinson II are all back in the Black & Gold in 2025-26.
• Overall, MU returns seven from last year's roster to go with five transfers and two freshmen.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS
• Kansas State posted a 16-17 record in 2024-25 with a 9-11 mark in Big 12 play.
• Jerome Tang is in his fourth season as head coach of KSU – posting a 61-41 record and advancing to the Elite Eight in 2023.
• While the Wildcats don't return a starter from last season, they welcome the nation's fourth-ranked transfer class, led by Memphis guard PJ Haggerty.
SERIES HISTORY
• In a series that dates back to 1906, KSU holds a slight edge in the all-time series, 121-116.
• The 237 all-time meetings mark is tied for MU's second-most played rivalry in school history.
• Friday's matchup marks the eighth time the schools meet from different conferences, joining games in 1908, 1909, 1913 (three times), 2015 and 2018.
RETURNING EXPERIENCE
• The Tigers are ready to take on the 2025-26 campaign with a number of familiar faces.
• Mizzou is the only team in the SEC with three returning starters from last season with Mark Mitchell, Trent Pierce and Anthony Robinson II all back for MU.
• Overall, it marks the first time that MU returns three starters since the 2020-21 campaign.
MITCHELL EARNS PRESEASON NOD
• Senior Mark Mitchell is one of the top returners in the SEC this season.
• An all-conference honoree last year as a junior – second-team by the media and third-team by the coaches – Mitchell was named to the All-SEC Preseason Second Team this season.
• Mitchell led the Tigers with 13.9 points, while ranking second with 4.7 rebounds in 2024-25.
TOP-FIVE VICTORIES
• The highlight for Mizzou during the 2024-25 season was a trio of wins over top-five schools.
• The Tigers defeated No. 1 Kansas, No. 4 Alabama and No. 5 Florida during the season.
• The victory over the Jayhawks marked Mizzou's fifth against the nation's top-ranked team and first since 1997.
• Meanwhile, the win over Florida marked the first for MU over the eventual national champion since North Carolina State in 1982-83.
• Overall, MU was one of three schools with three top-five wins in 2024-25 – doing so for the second time in its history and first since 1988-89.
TOP-10 OFFENSE NATIONALLY
