Men’s Golf Moves Up to Third at Canada

The Mizzou men's golf program moved up one spot in the team rankings on Monday, finishing the second round at 10-under to sit in third place at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational.

The Mizzou men's golf program moved up one spot in the team rankings on Monday, finishing the second round at 10-under to sit in third place at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational.

All four Tigers counting toward the team score finished under par on the day, led by three-under 69 tallies from senior Virgilio Paz and junior Bradley Mulder. Both carded seven birdies on the day as Paz moved up four spots to 12th overall at -4 (71-69) and Mulder was the team's high riser on the day, moving up 13 spots at 30th place (77-69).

Overall, junior Veikka Viskari continues to lead the Tigers and chase his second top 10 in as many tournaments this season. He carded a two-under 70 and now sits in sixth place with a two-day score of -7 (67-70). Freshman Reese Roberts (73-70) matched Viskari at two-under on Monday and is now tied with sophomore Trent Mierl (70-73) in 19th place.

As a team, Mizzou's 10-under score is its best tally in five rounds this season – topping the opening round by three strokes. Notre Dame leads the tournament at -25, followed by Michigan (-20), Mizzou (-17), UNC Wilmington (-13) and Miami University (-3).

The final round of play is set for Tuesday morning.
