Mizzou Athletics has announced the 2025-26 members and leadership positions for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), a group dedicated to enhancing the overall student-athlete experience at Mizzou.
Meeting bi-weekly throughout the academic year, SAAC provides a forum for student-athletes to discuss issues and concerns, advocate for their peers and foster a sense of unity across all programs. In addition, SAAC holds positions in the Missouri Students Association (MSA) Senate and the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee to share updates and perspectives from the student-athlete community.
For the upcoming year, SAAC has identified three guiding priorities:
- The Power of Their Why – Encouraging student-athletes to reflect on their personal motivations and values to maximize their experience at Mizzou.
- Engagement – Strengthening involvement across athletics, campus, and the Columbia community.
- commUNITY – Building a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and support across all programs.
SAAC is also advancing mental health advocacy efforts. Gymnastics' Elise Tisler will serve as one of Missouri's representatives for a university-wide mental health initiative, working closely with Mizzou's Mental Health unit to develop programming and resources that support student-athlete well-being.
The 2025-26 SAAC Executive Team includes:
- President: Addie Dobson (Women's Golf)
- Vice President: Jarrett Stoner (Wrestling)
- SEC Coordinator: Addison Lawrence (Gymnastics)
- Secretary: Morgan Schaefer (Soccer)
- Treasurer: Grace Davis (Gymnastics)
Dobson, who served as SAAC Secretary in 2024-25, said she looks forward to building on the committee's momentum:
"I am so excited to step into this role this year," Dobson said. "I have an incredible executive board, and with their support, we are ready to put our vision for SAAC into action. Serving as secretary last year gave me a firsthand look at how much of a difference SAAC can make in the student-athlete experience. We hope to make sure every student-athlete feels heard, supported, and proud to represent their team and the Mizzou community."
Stoner emphasized the group's commitment to excellence on and off the field:
"Everyone in SAAC this year is super excited about this upcoming year as we set our eyes on having success in every realm of college athletics," he said. "Just this last year, our athletic department gave back in the form of community service a lot, and I mean a lot. Across all Division I programs, we finished 12th in the country in community service hours… Another accomplishment we had last year was our record-setting fall and spring GPAs, at 3.44 and 3.4 across all sports. This shows the commitment our athletic department has to excellence in every aspect of being a student-athlete. This is my first year on the SAAC executive board and I am ecstatic at the opportunity to work with an amazing group of athletes through this new world of athletics."
In addition to its executive team, SAAC is comprised of two to three representatives from each varsity program, serving as the governing body for Mizzou student-athletes. Responsibilities include communicating with campus administrators and athletics staff, voting on Southeastern Conference and NCAA legislation, and helping organize student-athlete development initiatives.
