Mizzou women's golf opened play at the Sam Golden Invitational Monday, finishing day one in first behind freshman Ebba Liljeberg's NCAA record second round where she carded an 11-under 61.

Liljeberg's second round performance ties the all-time collegiate record in relation to par.

Liljeberg carded 18 birdies in her first 36-holes as a Tiger, including just one bogey, to lead the field-of-72 by nine shots going into the final round. Her round-one 66 marked a program freshman record, before she shattered that score with an 11-birdie performance in round two, tying the national record and breaking MU's single-round record by four shots. After beginning the day with a birdie, Liljeberg only continued to heat up, starting the second 18 with six straight birdies.

Senior's Addie Dobson and Melanie Walker also finished inside the top-25 on the day, starting their 2025-26 campaigns under-par. Dobson recorded a four-under 68 in the second round to close the day in 12th individually, while Walker turned in a three-under 69 in the opening-round to end in 22nd.

As a team, the Tigers carry a six-shot lead into the final round. Mizzou finished the day at 24-under, posting a round-one 281, followed by 271 in the second-round.

The third round will be a shotgun start on Tuesday at 8 a.m. CT.
