Kristi Perez-Snyman clutched the South African National Championship title in high jump and Gabi Jacobs secured the fifth spot on the world best discus list with a mark of 68.21m this past weekend.

Perez-Snyman set the Mizzou record for high jump at 1.88m, gaining her first South African National Championship on Saturday.

This is not the first time Perez-Snyman has added her name to the Mizzou record book. Previously, the Cape Town native tied for the program record in high jump, recording a height of 1.83m at the Show-Me Showdown. This result ranked Perez-Snyman fourth nationally in the 2025 indoor events. Perez-Snyman continued to set another program record of 1.86m at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational, breaking a three-way tie for the top spot in Tiger history. The previous record of 1.83m dates back to 1994.

Jacobs, former SEC Champion and the program's discus record holder competed at the University of Kansas this weekend, hitting a mark of 68.21m. That mark currently sits No. 5 on the world list and No. 6 on the all-time United States list, comparable to gold medal finishes at the Olympic Games. Jacobs is currently a graduate student at Mizzou and participates in the MU post-collegiate training group.

The Tiger alumni is a two-time NCAA First Team All-American in discus, placing fifth nationally. Jacobs was also a three-time West Preliminary qualifier. During her junior year, Jacobs set the Mizzou record in outdoor discus, notching a distance of 58.23m.

Mizzou continues the 2025 outdoor season on Saturday, competing at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster.
