OXFORD, Miss. – University of Missouri track and field capped off day one of the Joe Walker Invite at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex on Friday, highlighted by Emanuele Bellanova's career day in the decathlon. 

The No. 15 women's team was represented by Brooke Sawatsky, Anna Vedral and Allison Green while Bellanova and Charlie Garino represented the men's team. 

Bellanova earned a career-best day one finish in the decathlon, highlighted by personal records set in the 100m (10.95) and 400m (51.95) events and a first-place finish in shot put (12.92m). After four top-five finishes on the day, he stands in third heading into day two. Sawatsky also notched a personal best in shot put, recording a throw of 9.80m.
