The NCAA released the latest Academic Progress Rates for the current multiyear cohort on Tuesday with five Missouri programs posting a perfect score and 14 teams either matching or exceeding their sports' national average.
The five teams that posted a perfect score during the current multiyear cohort (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23) include women's golf for the 11th time in program history and a third-straight season, gymnastics and volleyball for a fifth time in team history plus soccer and softball for a second time.
Additional highlights include:
• The Mizzou football team posted a team-best score of 990 – 22 points over the sport's average of 968 and the second-highest score among SEC schools.
• The MU men's track (994) and wrestling (991) teams also posted their best scores in school history – surpassing the national average for their sports by 20 and 16 points, respectively.
• In addition to the five perfect scores and the three teams that set their program's record, five Mizzou programs exceeded the national average for their sport in women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, tennis and women's track, while the women's swimming and diving program matched its average.
• Overall, five Tiger teams increased their average from one season ago in football, men's track, wrestling, gymnastics and soccer with an additional five programs matching last season's total – baseball, men's cross country, women's golf, softball and volleyball.
The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance during a four-year evaluation period.
