
Women's Basketball to Face Jacksonville State on Sunday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball welcomes Jacksonville State to Mizzou arena at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The game will stream live on SECN+.
Missouri (6-3, 0-0 SEC) enters the contest following a third-place finish in the Emerald Coast Classic earlier in the week. Missouri defeated Wichita State after falling to Syracuse.
Sophomore guard Grace Slaughter was named to the all-tournament team with 13 and 12-point outings, respectively.
Junior guard Ashton Judd led Missouri with 22 points on Tuesday to defeat the Shockers.
Senior forward Laniah Randle recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards.
For the second time this season, five Tigers scored in double figures against Wichita State.
Led by sophomore guard Abbey Schreacke, Missouri has displayed a heavy 3-point presence this season.
Schreacke, who has led Missouri in points off the bench in all but one contest this season is tied for fourth nationally with 25 3-pointers on the year. She also ranks sixth in the SEC in 3-point percentage (40.3%).
As a team, the Tigers are second in the conference and 16th nationally in 3-point percentage at 40.1 percent.
Slaughter is tied for 25th nationally with 32 free throw makes on the year.
Redshirt sophomore guard Averi Kroenke ranks second in the SEC and 15th in the country with a 3.8 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Sunday will mark the first all-time meeting between the teams. Jacksonville State is the sixth program this season that Missouri will play for the first time.
Jacksonville State (4-1, 0-0 CUSA) enters Sunday at 4-1 on the season following a victory over Sewanee on Monday.
The Gamecocks finished last season at 12-17 including a 7-9 mark against Conference USA opponents. They were defeated in the opening round of the conference tournament by Louisiana Tech.
Jacksonville State is coached by Rick Pietri who is in his 12th season at the helm of the program with a 175-153 record.
Pietri spent 13 seasons as the head coach at South Alabama totaling an overall career record of 395-320.
The Gamecocks' roster is headlined by Mya Barnes and Asia Barclay who are averaging 11.2 points and 10.4 points per game, respectfully.
