COLUMBIA, Mo. – A consensus top-100 recruit, Aaron Rowe (Columbia, Mo.) is staying a home as the point guard officially signed to join the University of Missouri men's basketball program on Wednesday.
Currently ranked as high as the nation's No. 53 prospect, Rowe has enjoyed success at every level of basketball he has played during his career, leading both Tolton High School and Link Academy during deep postseason runs.
"We couldn't be more thrilled that Aaron has decided to stay home, remain in CoMo and be a part of our Mizzou family," said Whitten Family Men's Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates. "He was a priority for us from day one as one of the top point guard prospects in the country. He is a cerebral point guard with elite quickness and athleticism who can create for his teammates. With him being a homegrown player here in Columbia, we've really gotten to know Aaron over the last two-plus years. He is already a familiar face within our program and we can't wait for him to officially don the Black & Gold."
During the 2022-23 campaign, Rowe helped Link Academy to the 2023 GEICO National Championship. The youngest player on the roster, Rowe totaled 16 points during the three-game national tournament, shooting 58.3 percent in the postseason event that featured some of the nation's top talent.
He then returned home to Columbia and Tolton High School, where he helped lead the Blazers to a runner-up finish in the state tournament as a freshman. Overall, Rowe is a two-time MBCA Class 4 All-State honoree during his career (2022 and 2024).
"Aaron is a dynamic player that impacts winning in multiple ways and will make others around him better," said Tolton head coach Jeremy Osborne. "He's one of the best passers in the country and a smooth guard that scores well at all three levels. I am excited to see his continued growth and development with Coach Gates and staff."
"Aaron has been one of the top point guards in the country since entering high school," said Matt Suther of MOKAN Basketball. "He has an elite burst and ability to change pace and change directions which is something that all elite guards must do. He also has the ability to facilitate and score. Aaron was a contributor on a national championship team as a sophomore in high school, so he understands what it takes to win at a high level."
Rowe is the Tigers first signee on the opening day of the early signing period. Mizzou currently owns the nation's No. 24 class, marking the third-straight season the Tigers have secured a top-30 class in the country (No. 27 in 2023 and No. 5 in 2024).
