Cross Country Teams Finish Second at Crimson Classic

Mizzou had five men, four women finish in the top 25 individually of respective races
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Missouri cross country finished its regular seasons with both men's and women's teams finishing in second place during Alabama's Crimson Classic at the Harry Pritchett Running Park on Friday morning.
The men earned their fourth-consecutive top-five while the women notched the second top-five finish of the season. The hosting Crimson Tide took home first place in both races.
Drew Rogers led the way for the Tigers for the first time this season, earning a fifth-place finish during the men's 8k. The junior set a new career-best during the event at 23:26.6.
Rogers was followed by sophomore Ryder James at 25:31.2 for an eighth-place result. Blake Morris (12th), Declan Tunney (16th) and Jamie Mora (22nd) round out Mizzou's runners who finished in the top 25.
On the women's side, sophomore Rahel Broemmel took the top spot for the Tigers for the fourth time this season with a 6k personal record. Since enrolling at MU, Broemmel has finished first, 21st, 16th and ninth on Friday at 20:01.3.
Four Tigers on the women's team finished in the top-25 – Nicole Louw in 21st, Natalie Barnard in 22nd and Charlotte Cullen in 25th.
The men's team recorded 63 points, just four behind first-place Alabama, while the women totaled 99, its best result since the Mizzou XC Opener.
TOP TIGERS
- Sophomore Rahel Broemmel earned her third-consecutive top-25 finish, ranking ninth with a time of 23:26.6. This is her second-highest finish of the season after taking first individually at the Mizzou XC Opener.
- Nicole Louw, a sophomore, set a new career-best in the 6k after earning a time of 20:30.3, beating her previous best set in the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational earlier this year by over 50 seconds.
- Junior Drew Rogers beat his college best in the 8k with 23:26.6, following a previous best at 23:44.4 set at the Gans Creek Classic.
- Ryder James earned his best finish of the season in eighth, running a 23:36.8 in the 8k to snag his second-consecutive top-10 result.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will begin its postseason by traveling to the SEC Championships in College Station, Texas, on November 1 to compete on the Watts Cross Country Course.
