Gymnastics Falls to No.13 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La.  –The University of Missouri gymnastics was road test against No. 13 LSU on Friday, with the Tigers unable to pull off the victory on the road. The Tigers recorded its highest score ever in Baton Rouge, with a 196.525, while LSU recorded a 197.150. The previous high score was 196.175 set in 2021.

Bars

The Tigers began the meet on bars and continued to build as the rotation wore on, sophomore Amari Celestine made her debut with a 9.850, Alisa Sheremeta followed with a 9.85 as well. Jocelyn Moore recorded a team-high of 9.857. Mizzou finished the event with a 49.250.

Vault

Missouri was consistent on vault. Schreiber scored a 9.8, Grace Anne Davis followed up with a 9.825. Jocelyn Moore once again had the team-high score with a 9.875. The Tigers ended the Vault rotation with a 49.050

Floor

The Tigers had some ground to make up as they headed to floor and started off strong with the Schreiber earning a 9.850 in the leadoff position. Sheremeta posted a solid routine for a 9.825 in the third spot. Celestine rounded out the Tigers lineup by producing a solid routine for a score of 9.9 that rounded out a Mizzou floor score of 49.275.

Beam

The bottom half of the lineup provided once again to be consistent. In the fourth spot Sheremeta earned a 9.825, Building on Sheremeta' s strong routine Helen Hu boasted a 9.925, to close out the rotation Schreiber earned a 9.825. The Tigers finished off the beam rotation with a 48.950.

Up Next

The Tigers remain on the road for a tri-meet on Jan. 29 against Lindenwood and Texas Women's University. The meet is set for 1 p.m.
