
Mizzou Continues SEC Battle at No. 39 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, TN – As the SEC regular season stretches on, the University of Missouri (6-9, 1-1 SEC) will play one more road game against No. 39 Vanderbilt (8-3, 0-2 SEC) on Sunday, March 13.
The Tigers enter competition with a wave of momentum after downing No. 43 Kentucky, 4-3, on Friday afternoon. Bronte Murgett, Ellie Wright, and Elys Venura all secured singles points for Missouri after losing the doubles point. Mizzou matched Kentucky point for point until the teams were tied at three apiece. Gabriela Martinez clinched the match with a third set win over Ellie Eades, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4. This was the team's first SEC opponent victory since beating No. 25 Mississippi State last season, 4-2.
Vetting Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt will begin its match with Mizzou riding a three game losing streak. The team lost to No. 65 Arkansas, 3-4, and No. 19 Alabama, 2-5. Despite these two losses, Vanderbilt still has a number of players in the ITA Rankings. Junior Anna Ross sits at No. 46 in singles, along with No. 64 Anessa Lee. In doubles, Ross teams up with Yufei Long as No. 78 in the national rankings.
