
Three Tigers Medal in Day Two of SEC Indoor Championships

Roberto Vilches captured gold in the men’s high jump while Martin Prodanov and Georgi Nachev captured silver in the men’s mile and the men’s triple jump, respectively.
College Station, Texas — University of Missouri Track & Field concluded the SEC Indoor Championships with one student-athlete capturing gold, two student-athletes taking home silver, and six student-athletes setting new personal bests.
NOTABLE FINISHES
Roberto Vilches (Mexico City, Mexico) captured gold in the men's high jump with a leap of 2.23m (7-3.75). This is Vilches' first time medaling at the SEC Indoor Championships.
Martin Prodanov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) won silver in the men's mile with a time of 3:57.37, breaking his previous school record of 3:58.72. Marquette Wilhite (Warrensburg, Mo.) set a new personal record of 3:58.90 in the men's mile. He is now the third student-athlete in Mizzou indoor history to run a sub-4:00 mile.
Georgi Nachev (Yambol, Bulgaria) set a new personal best in the men's triple jump, capturing the silver at the SEC Indoor Championships and re-setting his second-best school top mark with a leap of 16.48m (54-1).
In the women's mile, Melissa Menghini (Fenton, Mo.) set a new personal record with a time of 4:38.62. This time is now the third-fastest women's indoor mile time in school history.
