
Mizzou Begins Final Road Swing at LSU

Tigers face LSU Saturday, Feb. 25 in Baton Rouge
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri men's basketball team heads out on the road for its final two away games of the regular-season, beginning with a matchup down in Baton Rouge, La. Mizzou will face off against LSU on Saturday, Feb. 26 for a 7:30 p.m tip on SEC Network. Dave Neal and Jon Sundvold will have the call on SEC Network, as Mike Kelly and Chris Gervino will have the call on the Tiger Radio Network.
MIZZOU HEADLINES
- Mizzou looks to get back on track and snap a four-game skid as they matchup against LSU who has also lost two-straight.
- Javon Pickett has been one of the most consistent players in SEC play for Mizzou, averaging 12.7 points per game on 47.8 percent shooting.
- The senior has recorded double-digit scoring efforts in 12-straight conference contests, including 16 in the last two games for Mizzou against Mississippi State and Tennessee.
- Missouri is shooting 43.4 percent from the floor against conference opponents, ranking sixth in the SEC. The Tigers' are eighth in FG percentage defense, and one of four teams alongside Auburn, Kentucky and LSU to be top-eight in both categories.
- The Tigers rank top ten nationally in strength of schedule and third in the SEC, bested only by Tennessee and Alabama.
- Missouri is shooting 76 percent from the free throw line in SEC play, the second-best in the league.
- This season, Missouri has been 7-2 when both Kobe Brown and Javon Pickett score 10+ points, with the Tigers' last two losses being the only occurrences this season.
- Seven of Mizzou's last ten SEC games have been decided by an average of 4.5 points.
THE SERIES
- LSU leads the all-time series, 9-2, with only one of the previous meetings coming before Missouri joined the SEC.
- The Tigers' last win against LSU came in 2015 with a 76-67 overtime win as both of Mizzou's wins in the series have come in Mizzou Arena.
- Mizzou dropped last years contest by a narrow margin of six points in their final contest of the regular-season.
- In that matchup, Missouri had three players in double-figures including Kobe Brown who had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
- Each of the last four matchups against LSU have been decided by six or fewer points.
SCOUTING LSU
- LSU leads the SEC in field goal percentage defense and steals. As a team, the Tigers have three separate players who rank in the top-15 among the conference in steals.
- The scoring duo of Tari Eason and Darius Days lead the Tigers with 16.9 and 13.3 points, respectively. Eason ranks fifth in the SEC and is fourth with a 52.8 field goal percentage.
- LSU is 13-2 at home this season, including wins against #16 Kentucky and #18 Tennessee.
- The Tigers have dropped their last two contests, both on the road, to South Carolina and #6 Kentucky.
- LSU is inside the cluster in the middle of the SEC standings, one of five teams sitting between 8-7 and 7-8 in conference play.
