Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri Women's basketball team continues its non-conference slate against Jackson State at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mizzou Arena. The contest will air live on SECN+ and KTGR.
Missouri enters the game at 10-1 on the season following an 83-36 victory over Omaha on Friday.
Five Tigers, Lauren Hansen (15), Hayley Frank (10), Sara-Rose Smith (13), Micah Linthacum (12) and Katlyn Gilbert (11) scored in double figures in the win. The feat marked the first of its kind since five members of the Black and Gold recorded 10+ points a victory over Illinois on Dec. 22, 2021.
For Linthacum, the scoring total marked a new career high.
Missouri held Omaha to just 12% from the floor, the lowest mark allowed by a Tigers team since at least the 1999-00 season. With the performance, Missouri now ranks 15th nationally in scoring defense, limiting its opponents to just 52.3 points per game.
Smith notched her fourth double-double of the season off the bench on Friday. The senior is one of just two players in the country with four or more double-doubles from the reserve unit.
Sunday will mark the third meeting between the two programs, the series is split 1-1 with the last matchup coming in the 1994-95 season.
Jackson State sits at 2-4 on the year after falling to Oregon State on Dec. 3. The Lady Tigers rank sixth nationally in strength of schedule with already completed contests against North Carolina, Texas Tech and UCLA among others.
The visitors are led by head coach Tomekia Reed who is in her fifth season at the helm of the program. Reed guided Jackson State to the SWAC regular-season title a year ago.
The current roster is headlined by junior guard Ti'lan Boler who is averaging 9.7 points per game.
