Swim & Dive Earns NCAA Cuts at Mizzou Qualifier

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 14/19 University of Missouri swimming teams competed for NCAA berths ahead of the NCAA Championships on March 16-19 (women) and March 23-26 (men).

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 14/19 University of Missouri swimming teams competed for NCAA berths ahead of the NCAA Championships on March 16-19 (women) and March 23-26 (men).

The men's 200 medley relay of senior Jack Dahlgren, junior Ben Patton, senior Danny Kovac and junior Kevin Hammer earned an automatic NCAA berth with an 'A' cut time of 1:23.88.

The Tigers also recorded 21 'B' cut times over the two-day event.  

On the women's side, freshman Taylor Williams recorded two 'B' cuts in the 100 fly with a personal best 52.00. Sophomore Sierra Smith posted a 49.48 'B' cut time in 100 free. Junior Amy Feddersen posted two 50 free 'B' cut times with splits of 22.67 and 22.56. Junior Meredith Rees also had a 50 free 'B' cut time with 22.67 split time. Freshman Brecken Merkel also earned a B cut in the 200 fly with a time of 1:58.30.

For the men, junior Will Goodwin recorded three 'B' cut times in the 200 breast, with his fastest time being 1:53.84. Junior Josh Pales posted three B cuts in the 100 breast, including a personal best 52.31. Freshman Ty Spillane also posted two 100 breast B cuts, with his fastest time of the weekend being 53.63. Freshman Grant Bochenski earned 'B' cuts in both the 100 back (47.69) and 200 free (1:36.08). 

Sophomore Daniel Wilson (100 fly – 47.30), junior Kevin Hammer (50 free – 19.88) and sophomore Mikolaj Malec (200 back – 1:44.90) also recorded 'B' cuts.

The Mizzou divers head to Madison, Wisconsin, from March 7-9 to compete for their NCAA berths at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.
