No. 14/19 Swim & Dive Set for SEC Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo – The No. 14/19 University of Missouri swimming and diving teams head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the SEC Championships from Feb. 15-19. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network +. Live results will be available online and on Meet Mobile.

MIZZOU SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY

The men's and women's teams are coming off sixth and eighth place finishes, respectively, at the 2020 SEC Championships. 

Last season, the women's 200 medley and 200 free relays and men's 400 medley relay all took second place at the championships. 

Senior Sarah Thompson finished with silver in the 100 back. Senior Danny Kovac also took silver in the 200 IM and 100 fly and bronze in the 200 fly. Junior Ben Patton took bronze in the 100 breast.

In the diving well, junior Carlo Lopez and sophomore Takuto Endo both secured bronze in the 1-meter and 3-meter, respectively.

Kovac holds one individual SEC title (2020 – 100 fly) and one relay SEC title (2019 – 400 medley relay). The men's program has also had three other individual titles (two diving and one swimming). On the women's side, the Mizzou program has had three SEC diving champions and one SEC swimming champion.

TOP TIGERS

Seven Tiger men and three Tiger women hold top-25 times in the nation in their respective events. Kovac holds the third-fastest time in the 200 fly and sixth fastest times in the 100 fly and 200 IM. Junior Ben Patton holds top-10 times in the 50 breast, 100 breast and 200 breast. 

Seniors Sarah Thomson and Megan Keil hold the eighth and twelfth fasted 50 free times, respectively. Thompson also holds top-ten times in the 50 fly, 100 fly and 100 back. Senior Jack Dahlgren also has a top-10 time in the 200 back.
