All-Time

Under head coach Brian Smith, the Tigers are 3-0 against the Jackrabbits. The last meeting came with a 33-9 Mizzou win during the 2020-21 season opener. Each squad will return five of their starters for Saturday's matchup with just one rematch scheduled.

Last Time Out

Missouri (7-2, 5-0 Big 12) returns home following an impressive road win against No. 20 Oklahoma Thursday night. The Tigers won six matches, including a pin from junior Allan Hart and a technical fall from freshman Keegan O'Toole. Outside of a technical fall in favor of Oklahoma, the other seven matches were decided by two points or less.

South Dakota State (7-1, 1-0 Big 12) comes to town following wins against Chattanooga and Maryland at the Virginia Duals in Hampton, Va., on Jan. 15. The Jackrabbits were originally scheduled to wrestle Big 12-opponent Utah Valley in Orem, Utah, but had the dual postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Matchup

The rematch of No. 9 Allan Hart and South Dakota State's sixth-ranked Clay Carlson will be the highest-ranked bout of the afternoon at 141 pounds. Hart is 2-0 against Carlson, including a major-decision win in last season's dual. The two wrestled earlier this month at the Southern Scuffle, where Hart got the better of Carlson in a 2-0 victory.

Freshman Keegan O'Toole, who wrestled in the dual last season at 157 pounds against Cade DeVos, will wrestle No. 27 Tanner Cook at 165 pounds. Redshirt freshman Sean Harman will take on DeVos, now ranked No. 8 at 174 pounds.

There will also be ranked matches at 197 pounds (No. 5 Rocky Elam vs. No. 22 Tanner Sloan) and at 285 pounds (No. 15 Zach Elam vs. 22 AJ Nevills).

Up Next

Missouri will hit the road again for a tri-dual against Utah Valley and Wyoming in Orem, Utah, on Saturday, Jan. 29. The Tigers wrestle Wyoming at 5 p.m. CT, followed by Utah Valley at 9 p.m. CT. Both duals will be streamed on FloWrestling.
