
Mizzou Soccer Faces Off with Kansas State

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Despite the fact that both Mizzou and Kansas State spent years in the in the same conference, the two teams have never met on the pitch.
The Kansas State program played its inaugural season in 2016, after Mizzou left the Big 12 for the SEC. Kansas State is coming off two games vs. common rival Kansas. The Wildcats lost 2-0 in Manhattan and played to a scoreless tie in the second game. Mizzou will take on Kansas twice to close out the spring slate.
The Tigers are returning home after facing Notre Dame in a road bout where Mizzou fell by a score of 2-0. In the 2020-21 season, the Tigers have only been shut out twice.
Junior Forward Julissa Cisneros looks to get the Tigers back on track. She leads Mizzou with 39 shots in 12 games. Cisneros scored the game-winner against Creighton to open the spring schedule. Jadyn Easley has fired off three shots in the last two games while also providing the assist on the game-winner. Jenna Bartels led the Tigers in shots against the Fighting Irish with two, putting one on goal.
Isabella Alessio has started in goal in each of the three spring matches. The sophomore earned her first shutout in a Mizzou uniform for her performance against Creighton. She had six saves against Notre Dame in 90 minutes of play.
