Mizzou’s Oliveira wins in doubles and singles action on Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis (10-3, 0-0 SEC) dropped its first match in nearly a month, as Memphis (1-7, 0-0 AAC) beat the Tigers, 4-2, on Friday afternoon at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. With the loss, Mizzou had its eight-match win streak snapped and dropped to 10-3 overall on the season.

DOUBLES

In doubles action, Mizzou earned the point after wins on courts 1 and 3. The team of junior Bronte Murgett (Holmfirth, Great Britain) and senior Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) won on court 1, 6-1, while senior Serena Nash (Bradford, England) and senior Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) won on court 3, 7-5.

SINGLES

Oliveira was Mizzou's lone winner in singles play, as she beat Laura Bente, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 on court 3. The Tigers dropped matches on courts 1, 2, 4 and 5.

UP NEXT

Mizzou will next host Iowa State on Sunday, Feb. 14. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. CT at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
