
Women's Basketball Takes on No. 1 South Carolina

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri women's basketball (11-2) is set to open Southeastern Conference play against No. 1 South Carolina (12-0). The game will tipoff on SEC Network at 6 p.m. CT.
South Carolina leads the all-time series over the Tigers 8-3. In program history, Mizzou is 0-8 against teams ranked first in the AP Poll.
The contest will feature the SEC's top two rebounders in South Carolina's Aliyah Boston (10.2 rpg) and Mizzou's Aijha Blackwell (12.7 rpg). Aijha Blackwell leads the nation in defensive rebounding (10.7), and she is tied for second in double doubles (9). Blackwell is the SEC's leader in rebounding and third in the nation (12.7). She is one of 24 players in the nation to average a double double per game.
The Tigers are currently sixth in the nation in field goal percentage at 47.7 percent which is best in the SEC. Mizzou is second in both three-point percentage (37.2) and three pointers made (8.2).
Hayley Frank leads the Tigers from beyond the arc at a 43.9 percent clip. She is also shooting 54.9 percent from the field and 84.9 percent from the charity stripe. She has 10 double-digit scoring efforts on the season and three 20-point games. Frank is tied for the conference lead with 29 three-pointers on the year.
Last time out, the Tigers closed out non-conference play with a convincing victory on the road against rival Illinois by a score of 84-65. Five Tigers finished in double figures for the first time on the season. Aijha Blackwell led the way with her ninth double double of the year while scoring 18 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.
