The Tigers will compete Dec. 20-21 in Niceville, Fla.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 10 Missouri wrestling (4-1, 4-0 Big 12) will take on some of the nation's top programs at the Collegiate Wrestling Duals from Journeyman Wrestling at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla., Monday and Tuesday Dec. 20-21. The duals will stream on Rokfin.
The tenth ranked Tigers will begin the tournament against Binghamton at 10 a.m. CT. The team will then turn around to wrestle N.C. State at 2 p.m. CT. Following the pool play round Monday, Mizzou will face No. 1 Iowa, No. 17 Lehigh or Central Michigan on Tuesday.
Monday Matchups
Head coach Brian Smith's team will face off against Binghamton for the second time all-time. The first dual came in a duals tournament during the 2001-02 season. The Bearcats will head to the panhandle following a 39-7 win at Sacred Heart on Saturday. Binghamton lost to common opponent North Dakota State 27-12 during its tri-meet on Dec. 10.
Freshman Rocky Elam and redshirt freshman will have ranked bouts in the dual. Rocky Elam will wrestle All-American Lou DePrez at 197 pounds. The Bearcats will also run out No. 22 Joe Doyle to face Zach Elam at 285 pounds.
The Tigers will wrestle their second NWCA top-10 team of the year against No. 5 N.C. State. The Wolfpack come into the tournament at 3-0, most recently defeating Appalachian State 25-10 on Dec. 12. N.C. State brings in five top-10 wrestlers with ranked athletes at every weight class.
The highest-ranked matchups will come at 125 pounds (No. 15 Noah Surtin (MIZ) vs. No. 5 Jakob Camacho), 174 pounds (No. 14 Peyton Mocco (MIZ) vs. No. 5 Hayden Hilday) and 184 pounds (No. 11 Jeremiah Kent (MIZ) vs. No. 3 Trent Hilday).
Tuesday Matchups
Mizzou will potentially meet No. 1 Iowa on the second day of the tournament. It would be the Tigers highest-ranked opponent since the last time the Tigers beat the top-ranked Hawkeyes during the 2014-15 season.
A dual against No. 17 Lehigh would be the first since the 2019-20 season when the Tigers lost 22-9 during the South Beach Duals tournament. Juniors Allan Hart and Jarrett Jacques and redshirt sophomores Peyton Mocco and Jeremiah Kent were amongst the starters during the last meeting.
The Tigers have been dominant against former MAC conference rival Central Michigan under Smith, going 10-4-1 against the Chippewas. Last season, Mizzou won 30-6 to bring its win streak in the series to eight straight seasons. Central Michigan is 1-0 this season with its lone dual coming against in a 24-12 victory over Rider.

Missouri will ring in the new year at the Southern Scuffle, presented by Compound Sportswear, Jan. 1-2 in Chattanooga, Tenn. The tournament will be streamed on FloWrestling.
