LOXLEY, ALA. – Mizzou Men's Golf secured the top spot of the leaderboard today after playing two consecutive rounds at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational. The Tigers claimed the lead halfway through the first round and never looked back as they enter the final round tomorrow with a 5-stroke lead after firing a 280 and 279 respectively for a 17-under 36-hole team score.
Junior Charlie Crockett was one of four Tigers to finish the day in the Top-25. Crockett started his first round with a birdie and ended it with an eagle to anchor his new career-low round score of a 5-under 67. He followed that up with an even-par 72 to close the day tied for fourth at 5-under.
Not far behind is sophomore Jack Lundin and junior Yu-Ta Tsai, both sitting at 3-under at T-10. Lundin carded an even-par 72 but came in big in the second round with a 3-under 69 which featured seven birdies. Following suit but in reverse fashion, Tsai posted a 3-under 69 and then an even-par 72.
Senior Jack Parker caught fire in between rounds with a massive comeback. Parker started the event with a 5-over 77 only to come roaring back to fire a new career-low of a 6-under 66. Parker enters the final round 1-under tied for 22nd place.
Rounding out Mizzou is freshman Dagbartur Sigurbrandsson who posted an even-par 72 and 6-over 78 respectively to sit at T-56.
