COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Mizzou Track & Field continued its three-day conference championship meet Friday, completing 10 events while setting two final-qualifying marks and a new school record on the track.

In the final event of the night, redshirt junior Melissa Menghini (Fenton, Mo.) shattered her own school record in the women's 3000m steeplechase. She beat her previous personal record by 11 seconds, finishing fourth with a 9:56.87 time.

In the men's 1500m preliminary race, freshman William Sinclair (Tauwhare, New Zealand) and sophomore Martin Prodanov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) qualified for Saturday's final. Sinclair finished as the second of three time qualifiers with a 3:45.42. Despite finishing 18th overall, a big kick in the final 200m gave Prodanov the third automatic qualifying position from his heat.

In the other eight events, the Tigers' highest finisher was redshirt senior Jordan McClendon (Black Jack, Mo.), who finished sixth in the women's hammer throw with a 64.37m distance.

The final day of the SEC Championships will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday with the men's discus. The competition will be streamed on SEC Network beginning at 5 p.m. CT.
