COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (12-26, 5-13 SEC) continues its road trip with a three-game SEC series at Alabama (25-15, 8-10 SEC) this weekend.
Game one of the series between the Tigers and Crimson Tide is set for 6 p.m. CT on Friday night before the series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. The first two games will air on SEC Network+ while Sunday's 11 a.m. finale will air on SEC Network.
Fans can also tune-in to KTGR (105.1 FM, 100.5 FM, 1580 AM) to catch the Tigers throughout the entire 2021 season with Tex Little and Matt Michaels on the call.
The matchup
• Mizzou and Alabama meet for just the 14th time in Friday's series opener. The Tigers hold a 7-6 edge in the series.
• The Tigers are 4-2 all-time in Tuscaloosa, including a sweep in their most recent trip in 2017.
• Alabama claimed the most recent series in 2018, taking 2-of-3 at Taylor Stadium.
Morris Making an Impact
• Junior Tre Morris continues to seize upon his opportunities, leading the team with a .304 average over the past 10 games for the Tigers.
• Morris is also tied for the team lead in RBI over that stretch, driving in six runs.
• The catcher had a two-out, two-run single on Tuesday at Kansas State. It was his third multi-RBI game of the season.
• In SEC games, Morris is second on the team with a .281 batting average. 6 of his 10 RBI have come in conference play.
Race to hoover
• Mizzou visits Alabama for what it hopes is the first of two times this month.
• The Tigers enter the weekend tied for 12th in the SEC, the final spot which qualifies for the SEC Tournament in Hoover at the end of May.
• Mizzou is even with Texas A&M in the standings, but holds the tiebreaker after taking 2-of-3 from the Aggies earlier this season.
• The black and gold closes SEC play with series against Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Auburn. The Aggies face Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn and LSU.
