Mizzou falls to 0-2 on the season in SEC play
BATON ROUGE, La. – Mizzou Tennis (8-6, 0-2 SEC) dropped its SEC road opener to No. 36 LSU (9-2, 2-0 SEC), 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in Baton Rouge, La.
DOUBLES
Mizzou dropped the doubles point after falling on courts one and three. Mizzou's team in the No. 2 position, junior Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) and freshman Elys Ventura (Auckland, New Zealand) had a narrow 4-3 deficit when the match was stopped due to the doubles point being clinched.
SINGLES
In singles play, Mizzou fell at the No. 3, 5 and 6 positions. When the match was halted, Wright had a one set lead on No. 75 Safiya Carrington in the No. 2 position, as she led 6-4, 1-2.
UP NEXT
Next, Mizzou will return home to face Arkansas on Sunday, March 8. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. CT at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
