GEORGE'S SCHOOL RECORDS
Mizzou redshirt senior Thomas George (Gloucester, England) will look to continue his dominant season in the Black & Gold, as he has set a school record in two of the three races he has competed in individually this season. George, who finished second in the NCAA Midwest Regional during the cross country season, set the 3000m school record at the Razorback Invitational on Feb. 1, as he crossed the finish line at 8:00.21. With the time, the Mizzou redshirt senior narrowly passed current teammate Kieran Wood, who set the 3000m school record last season. Two weeks later, George demolished the Mizzou program-best mark in the 5000m run by finishing with a time of 13:51.32 at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa on Feb. 14. George's time at Ames topped the previous school record by more than 12 seconds.
TRYING FOR THREE
Redshirt junior Ja'Mari Ward (Cahokia, Ill.) is set to pursue his third SEC Championship as he currently ranks seventh nationally and fifth in the SEC in the men's long jump. After winning the SEC Championship in the long jump during last year's outdoor campaign, Ward won the U.S. Championship at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa in July. Ward, a two-time NCAA All-American and Mizzou record holder, is set to improve on a winning 7.92m (26-0) mark at the Aggie Invitational earlier this season.
WEIGHT THROW STANDOUTS
Mizzou's throws group has once again proven to be a reliable commodity for the Mizzou Track & Field team, as leading throwers, redshirt junior Jordan McClendon and redshirt senior Patrick Kunza have led the way for the Tigers. After third-place finishes at both the Indoor and Outdoor SEC Championships last season, McClendon has totaled five victories during the 2020 indoor campaign. McClendon currently sits in second place in program history and has recorded a pair of 70'-plus throws over her last three meets. Meanwhile, Kunza has led the men's throws group by recording a pair of meet titles including the Aggie Invitational in College Station on Jan. 25.
TRIPLE JUMP TRIO
Mizzou's group of triple jumpers on the women's side have shot up the program record books as freshmen Euphenie Andre and Mara Hausler have complemented sophomore Arianna Fisher this season. In her first collegiate meet, Hausler moved into third place in program history behind Fisher and Mirieli Santos with a mark of 12.87m (42-2.75) at the Mizzou Holiday Opener. Meanwhile, Andre sits closely behind after a personal best mark of 12.65m (41-6) at the Mizzou Open on Feb. 7. Fisher, who finished 14th at last year's Indoor SEC Championships, recorded a career best mark of 12.99m (42-7.5) at the Mizzou Open (Feb. 7) and earned a first-place finish at the Tyson Invitational (Feb. 14).
