Columbia, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer announced on Friday the addition of Julie Huggins (Anthem, Az.) to the 2021 recruiting class.
Huggins, a senior at Boulder Creek High School in Anthem, Az., has already made a name for herself in the desert. She clinched the 2019 Phoenix City Junior Championship in the Girls 15-18 Division and most recently placed third in the upper age group in July 2020.
The Arizona native has claimed two Top-5 finishes, along with one Top-10 over the past two seasons. She carries a 78.80 scoring average that is anchored by a season total of 38 birdies and is currently ranked T-43 by the Junior Golf Association of Arizona.
Her prep career has consisted of four AIA Division I State Championship appearances, with the most recent including her helping to lead the team to claim a fourth-place finish in October, along with a 17th individual place. Huggins secured her individual-best post-season placement in 2019 when she stood at T-12 out of 73. To round it out, she is the season and career school record holder for birdies and pars, as well as setting an all-time low score in program history.
"Not only does Mizzou have everything I've been looking for in a school and golf program, but they believe in working hard for what you want which is really important to me," said Huggins.
