THE MATCHUP
- Mizzou Women's Basketball continues its hectic stretch of non-conference play on Saturday and Sunday, as the Tigers will play its third and fourth games in six days. First up, Mizzou will host Oral Roberts on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 12:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network +. Then, Mizzou will play Southern Illinois on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 12:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network +. Mizzou is coming off a 84-45 win over New Orleans on Wednesday, as the Tigers recorded its largest margin of victory in five seasons. Mizzou leads the all-time series between both schools, holding a 6-0 advantage over the Golden Eagles and a 8-5 advantage over the Salukis. Sunday's game will feature the return of former Mizzou Head Coach Cindy Stein, who went 185-177 in 12 seasons (1998-2010) on the Tiger bench and former Mizzou student-athlete Christelle N'Garsanet, who serve as the head coach and assistant coach, respectively, for Southern Illinois.
SEARCH FOR 800
- Mizzou enters the weekend just one win short of its 800th program victory. With one more win, Mizzou would become just the 74th team in NCAA Division-I history to reach 800 wins. Mizzou has had four head coaches in its program history, with current head coach Robin Pingeton leading the Tigers for the past 11 seasons with a mark of 182-142. Mizzou was also previously coached by Alexis Jarrett (1974-75, 9-8), Joann Rutherford (1975-98, 423-261) and Cindy Stein (1998-10, 185-177).
DAY IN THE MIDDLE
- A much needed presence in the middle of the paint, redshirt junior forward LaDazhia Williams has become a go-to offensive option through her first three games in the Black & Gold. She has scored in double figures in each of Mizzou's three games, first scoring 18 points in her Mizzou debut over North Alabama (Nov. 27), then 15 points against Missouri State (Dec. 14) and 14 points against New Orleans (Dec. 16). It marks the first time in her career she has scored in double figures in three consecutive games. She has been highly efficient in her offensive output as well, as she is shooting 76.0 percent (19-of-25) thorough Mizzou's first three games.
RIGHT WHERE THEY LEFT OFF
- In Mizzou's first three games, the sensational sophomore duo of guard Aijha Blackwell and forward Hayley Frank have picked up right where they left off from a season-ago, as they are averaging 15.7 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. In Mizzou's season-opening win over North Alabama (Nov. 27), Frank led the way for the Tigers with 24 points and pulled in 11 rebounds for her first career double-double, while Blackwell scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds for her eighth career double-double.
