Senior Jessica Yuen sits in the Top-10 after firing season-low score
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Behind strong performances across the lineup, Mizzou Women's Golf put together its best round of the fall campaign on Saturday at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The Tigers, facing an entire field of SEC teams, posted the second-lowest team score on the course in Round 2 with an even-par 288. The Tigers moved up to sit at 11th place with 21-over par score through 36 holes.
"I'm really proud of our team and how they stayed consistent and mentally tough for the entire round," said head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer. "We have struggled this fall to put an entire round together and today felt really good to have everyone in the mix."
Senior Jessica Yuen stayed hot following her first-round performance of a 74 to card her new season-low score of a 2-under 70 on Saturday. She shot up the leaderboard to end the day at T-10 and even-par overall. Her bogey-free 18 holes included two birdies as she tallied her 31st career-round under par.
Senior Noelle Beijer's high-energy round was highlighted by sinking five birdies to record a one-over 73. She moved up to sit at T26 heading into tomorrow as she looks to record her season-best finish.
Sophomore Sophia Yoemans rose up seven spots on the leaderboard to sit at T47 after carding a 2-over 74. Her round was anchored by two birdies on Saturday.
Brianne Bolden fired a one-under 71 to rebound from her first-round 85 and give her five career rounds under-par. She moved up to sit at T54 heading into the last round. Freshman Emily Staples recorded a 13-over par 85 to stand at 59th.
