Mizzou Tennis Earns Pair of Victories over Central Arkansas

Mizzou wins 4-3 in both match victories
CONWAY, Ark. – Mizzou Tennis picked up a pair of victories in a doubleheader match over Central Arkansas on Friday, as the Tigers defeated the Bears 4-3 in both matches. In each match, Mizzou won the doubles point and three matches in singles play.
MATCH 1
In the first match of the day, Mizzou opened by winning the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions. The team of senior Serena Nash (Bradford, England) and senior Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) won at the No. 2 spot, while junior Bronte Murgett (Holmfirth, Great Britain) and freshman Rom Cardenas Rifka (Merida, Yucatan, Mexico).
In singles play, Mizzou picked up victories from Nash, Valentina Vazquez Pongruber (Santiago, Chile) and Olga Bienzobas Fernandez (San Sebastian, Spain) at the No. 3, 5 and 6 position, respectively.
MATCH 2
In the second match, Mizzou earned the doubles point once again after wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions. Murgett and sophomore Elys Ventura (Aukland, New Zealand) picked up the win at the second position, while Cardenas Rifka and Wright won at the third position.
In singles play, Wright and Ventura picked up victories at the No. 1 and 2 positions, respectively, while Bienzobas Fernandez won at the No. 6 positions.
UP NEXT
Friday's doubleheader was the last fall event on the calendar for Mizzou, who will be off until Saturday, Jan. 23 when the Tigers open the spring schedule with a doubleheader against Murray State.
