Last Time Out
- Mizzou lost on the road to Tennessee, 2-1, in a match that came down to the final minutes at Regal Soccer Stadium.
- The Vols went up 2-0 in the second half, but a goal from Zoe Cross – the first of her career – in the 79th minute brought the Tigers back to life.
- Mizzou fired off a season-high 20 shots to constantly put Tennessee on its heels, but they were unable to find the equalizer in the final 10 minutes.
- The loss continues a streak of 13-straight winless matches on the road in SEC play for Mizzou. The last time Mizzou won a conference match on the road was a 2-1 victory at Kentucky, on Oct. 8, 2017.
Scouting Report
- In the first year under head coach Sian Hudson, LSU has opened the season 0-3, falling to Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
- The visiting Tigers have been shutout twice, with their lone goal coming against Mississippi State this past Sunday. LSU has registered only 36 shots on the season – 13 on goal.
- In between the sticks, LSU has rotated between the pair of Mollee Swift and Bella Zanotelli. Both have registered a save-percentage above 69 percent, as LSU has faced 50 shots on the season.
- Mizzou is looking for its first win over LSU since a 2-0 victory on Oct. 26, 2017 in Columbia, Mo.
- The last meeting between the two programs was a 3-2, double-overtime thriller in the opening round of the SEC Tournament in 2018. Julissa Cisneros posted a brace for Mizzou, including a goal in the 85th minute to send the match to overtime. A hat-trick from LSU's Alex Thomas proved to be too much for the Black and Gold, as her goal in the 104th minute eliminated Mizzou.
Blitz-ing Towards Another Milestone
- Mizzou head coach Bryan Blitz, the lone head coach in program history, is one-win shy of 250 wins in his career roaming the sidelines in Mid-Missouri.
- The 2015 SEC Coach of the Year, Blitz owns a record of 249-212-36 at Mizzou.
- Florida's Becky Burleigh, Texas A&M's G Guerrieri and South Carolina's Shelley Smith are the only coaches in the league to win 250 games at their current institution.
- Auburn's Karen Hoppa is approaching the milestone with 244 wins with the Tigers.
- Blitz is also fifth amongst his SEC colleagues in career wins with 294, trailing Smith (297), Hoppa (308), Guerrueri (473) and Burleigh (508).
Friday Night Blues
- Since the start of the 2017 season, Mizzou has gone 2-7-3 in Friday night matches, with both wins coming during the 2017 season.
- The last time Mizzou won on a Friday was a 3-1 victory over Georgia, on Sept. 15, 2017.
Back-to-Back Home Wins
- A win over LSU on Friday night would be the first time Mizzou has won back-to-back home matches in SEC play since the 2016 season.
- Mizzou, on its way to a first-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament, defeated Alabama (Oct. 9, 2-0) and Vanderbilt (Oct. 14, 2-1) to enter the final three weeks of the season.
- Since the start of the 2017 season, Mizzou has gone 7-9 at Walton Stadium during SEC play.
