Mizzou hosting NCAAs for the 11th time in 2024
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri and the Kansas City Sports Commission will host the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The 2024 NCAA Championships will serve as the 11th time that Mizzou has hosted the national event. Mizzou is of course slated to host the 2021 NCAA Championships in St. Louis.
"The last time our entire staff was in Kansas City, we met with the people of the Kanas City Sports Commission, and it was great to see the facility and the eagerness they had to host the event," head coach Brian Smith said. "Then, after our tour, we walked out of the T-Mobile Center and right there is Power & Light. It's going to be an awesome setting for wrestling fans.
"It's also pretty cool that we are getting the chance to host the event again as well – it will be our 11th time," Smith continued. "We are becoming the school that is known for hosting the NCAA Wrestling Championships. I'm happy for our team too – we have a lot of wrestlers from the Kansas City area who could be wrestling for national titles in their hometown that year. It's exciting."
Mizzou is also set to host the 2021 NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., as well, which will be the program's 10th time hosting.
The additional championship sites announced for wrestling are as follows:
- 2023 – Tulsa, Okla.
- 2025 – Philadelphia, Pa.
- 2026 – Cleveland, Ohio
