
Mizzou Tennis Continues with Three Matches This Week

Mizzou will host Missouri State and Saint Louis on Friday, will travel to Kansas State on Sunday
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou Tennis team will continue its four-match home stand to open the 2019-20 spring season against two in-state opponents on Friday, Jan. 31. Missouri hosts Missouri State at 1 p.m. CT before a 5 p.m. CT match against Saint Louis. After the Friday doubleheader, Mizzou will head to Manhattan, Kan., to face Kansas State on Sunday, Feb. 2 at Noon CT.
To kick off the season, Mizzou claimed a pair of 4-0 sweeps over Western Illinois on Jan. 25. Sophomore Vivien Ábrahám (Budapest, Hungary) and freshman Elys Ventura (Aukland, New Zealand) picked up two singles victories on the day, Ventura completing her wins without dropping a game. Also posting singles wins were seniors Gabrielle Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) and Serena Nash (Bradford, England).
Missouri State enter Friday's matchup with a 1-1 record. They suffered a defeat to Creighton (2-5) in their last time out. Saint Louis has posted a 1-0 record on the season. Their first match of the season ended in a 4-3 win against Chicago State.
After the three matches this weekend, Mizzou will return to the Mizzou Tennis Complex on Friday Feb. 7 to take on Wichita State at 4 p.m. CT.
