COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis interim head coach Chris Wootton announced the team's 2020-21 schedule on Friday. The fall slate features two events, while the spring season features 16 of 18 nonconference matchups at home and a 13-match SEC schedule that culminates with Ole Miss at home on April 17. In total, 23 of Mizzou's 33 scheduled matches in 2020-21 will be played at home, the most of any in program history.
Mizzou will open its fall schedule this week with a doubleheader against Central Arkansas on Oct. 2, followed by the ITA Central Regional in Fayetteville, Ark., (Oct. 21-25).
The Tigers will then transition into the spring schedule, which features 18 nonconference matches and a 13-match SEC slate. Mizzou won't have to leave the comforts of Columbia until late February, as its first 16 matches of the spring schedule will take place at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Also included in the nonconference slate for Mizzou is eight doubleheaders, giving the Tigers' roster of 13 plenty of experience before conference play.
Mizzou's SEC schedule will kick off with Mississippi State on March 5, with a start time of 5 p.m. CT at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tigers will also host Arkansas (March 14), Kentucky (March 19), Vanderbilt (March 21), Alabama (April 2), Auburn (April 4) and Ole Miss (April 17) this season. On the road in SEC play, Mizzou will travel to LSU (March 7), Florida (March 26), South Carolina (March 28), Georgia (April 9), Tennessee (April 11) and Texas A&M (April 15).
This season, the SEC Tournament will be hosted by Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and will take place April 20-25.
