COLUMBIA, Mo. – Three athletes with ties to Mizzou Softball will officially begin play for the inaugural season of Athletes Unlimited this weekend. Mizzou Made greats, Emily Crane and Sami Fagan, as well as current graduate assistant, DJ Sanders, will begin opening play of the new professional league on Saturday.

The league will hold play at the Parkway Banks Sports Complex in Rosemont, Ill., with games streaming live on either CBS Sports Network or the ESPN Family of Networks.

Fagan is currently serving as the team captain for Team Purple, while Crane and Sanders are members of Team Warren (Orange) and Team Pendley (Blue).

Athletes Unlimited will be played under an individual-focused model. As opposed to set teams and franchises, the league will redraft its four teams each week of play. Players will score points based on their team's performance and the individual stats they accumulate each week. After the last game of every week, the top four point scorers will be named team captains and re-draft their teams.
