COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri gymnastics head coach Shannon Welker announced the addition of transfer Macy Orosco, who committed to attend the University this fall. Orosco spent her freshman season as a member of the Alabama gymnastics program and will sit out the 2020-21 campaign due to Southeastern Conference transfer rules.

"Anytime we have an opportunity to enhance our team culture and talent level, that is a win-win," Welker said. "That is why we are so excited to have Macy joining our team. She will obviously be a great addition to our uneven bar squad, but even more impressive is her character and positive attitude!"

"Mizzou was my first college visit and I remember loving the campus and coaching staff," Orosco said. "I have watched this program change in many positive ways and I believe this program is only going to get stronger as time goes on," Orosco said. "So choosing Mizzou was a no brainer."

A native of Arlington, Texas, Orosco did not see competitive action for the Crimson Tide in 2019-20. Before Alabama, she trained with Empire Gymnastics under coach Chris Brashier. A bars and floor specialist, Orosco entered college with Level 10 career-highs of 9.775 on bars and 9.525 on floor. She was a three-time regional qualifier and claimed the 2017 Texas bar champion.
