Mizzou Baseball Posts Team 3.36 GPA in Spring 2020 Semester

Mizzou Baseball enjoyed one of its finest academic semesters in program history, following a cumulative 3.36 grade point average over the recent spring 2020 semester at the University of Missouri.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball enjoyed one of its finest academic semesters in program history, following a cumulative 3.36 grade point average over the recent spring 2020 semester at the University of Missouri.

The 3.36 team GPA marks the program's highest spring semester total in nearly two decades. Individually, 34 of the team's 40 individuals exceeded a 3.00 GPA in the spring 2020 semester.

"I'm extremely pleased with this team's academic performance this past semester and for the entire 2019-20 school year," said Mizzou Baseball head coach Steve Bieser. "When the pandemic hit in mid-March, our student-athletes faced a lot of new challenges on and off the field. Their ability to focus, stay the course and produce one of the best team GPAs in program history is simply remarkable. I'm very proud of their hard work."

Under Coach Bieser's first four years at the helm, Mizzou has enjoyed unprecedented success in the classroom. In the summer of 2019, the Tigers were only one of 50 Division I programs to garner the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.

Mizzou's spring 2020 semester academic success carried over from a strong fall 2019 semester. The Tigers tallied a 3.03 cumulative GPA to start the school year, marking the first time the program produced consecutive 3.00-plus GPA fall semesters since 2011-12.
