COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling continues to round out its 2020-21 roster by adding to its already second-ranked recruiting class, as Monday (June 1) it added three-time state champion Sam Frankowski. A native of Fenton, Mo., in the St. Louis area, Frankowski is a three-time MSHSAA state champion (2017-19) while wrestling for Rockwood Summit High School. He will be a 157-pounder for coach Brian Smith and Mizzou Wrestling.
In addition to three state titles, Frankowski is a four-time district champion (2016-19), and three times he was named the Class 3 District I Wrestler of the Year. In 2019, he earned Class 3 Wrestler of the Year after claiming his third consecutive state title. In addition to his performance on the mat, Frankowski was a three-time Academic All-State selection as well, doing so from 2017-19.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch named him to the newspaper's All-Decade Wrestling First Team this year. He is a 2017 Freestyle State Champion and a 2018 Greco State Champion. He is a three-time Missouri State National Duals team member as well.
Frankowski's name appears all over the St. Louis Wrestling Official's Association (SLWOA) record books, providing more proof of his dominance in the St. Louis metro area:

- SLWOA 'Outstanding Wrestler' Cadet Award 2015
- SLWOA 'Most Outstanding Wrestler' Missouri Class 3 Freshman Award 2016
- SLWOA and MSHSAA 'Most Outstanding Wrestler' Missouri Class 3 Sophomore Award 2017
- SLWOA 'Most Outstanding Wrestler' Missouri Class 3 Junior Award 2018
