Mizzou Volleyball will send two representatives to the 2020 U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts, announced Wednesday by USA Volleyball. Sophomore OH Anna Dixon and senior MB Tyanna Omazic will visit Colorado Springs, Colorado, from Feb. 21-23.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball will send two representatives to the 2020 U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts, announced Wednesday by USA Volleyball. Sophomore OH Anna Dixon and senior MB Tyanna Omazic will visit Colorado Springs, Colorado, from Feb. 21-23.

"We're very excited for both Anna and Tyanna and we know they'll represent Mizzou Volleyball in a tremendous way later this month," said Mizzou Volleyball head coach Joshua Taylor. "Both of these ladies are incredibly talented and deserving of this invite to Colorado Springs. We're excited to watch them compete and show off their skillset all weekend long."

Omazic enjoyed a breakthrough 2019 junior campaign at Mizzou, leading to her first-ever AVCA Southeast All-Region and All-SEC accolades. The Kansas City, Missouri, native's .386 overall hitting percentage ranked 28th in the NCAA and fourth in the Southeastern Conference.

The Tiger middle blocker established new single-season career-highs in kills (283), hitting (.386), assists (11), aces (33), digs (67) and points (366.0).

Dixon, a transfer from Kansas State, brings another talented attacker to the Tiger lineup in 2020. A summer ago, she was one of 12 members on the 2019 USA Volleyball Women's Junior National Team and competed at the FIVB U-20 World Championships.

The Louisburg, Kansas, native shined in her lone season at Kansas State, earning 2019 All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors. Dixon paced the Wildcats in kills per set (2.89), while ranking second on the team in kills (292) and points (326.0).

The tryout will evaluate athletes from 94 colleges from across the country for spots on the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Collegiate National Team program. The breakdown of the tryout includes 69 outside hitters, 47 liberos, 37 middle blockers, 37 setters and 24 opposite hitters.

The tryout will involve four sessions with three waves per session. Friday's session will take place between 2-8 p.m. MT, while Saturday's two sessions begin at 8 a.m. MT and 8 p.m. MT. The final session on Sunday will begin at 7:30 a.m. MT with tournament style play, along with 16-18 athletes selected by the U.S. Women's National Team staff to participate in a "USA" training session.
