Tigers improve to 3-0-1 in extra inning contests this season
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (19-10-1) participated in its fourth extra-inning game in its past six times out, defeating the visiting Saint Louis Billikens Tuesday evening, 4-3 in 10 innings. The Billikens issued three consecutive walks with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, as sophomore C Chad McDaniel took four straight balls to secure the Tigers' victory.
Mizzou's pitching was rock solid yet again Tuesday, highlighted by 15 strikeouts of Billiken hitters. Junior LHP Art Joven took a no decision despite matching his career-high with 10 strikeouts over 5.0 innings pitched. Redshirt junior RHP Jordan Gubelman and senior RHP Cameron Dulle closed the game with 5.0 solid frames of relief.

Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser
On the Tigers' lack of situational hitting Tuesday…
"Frustrating is the right word. It was really tough to watch that time after time. Three times we stranded the bases loaded. We were taking all the way that last bases loaded situation in the 10th inning. We would've even taken with a 3-2 count. We weren't finding ways to get a hit. It was getting very frustrating."
On Joven and Gubelman's solid efforts on the bump…
"I think Art was a bit spotty. His location wasn't very good, but he competed and got us through five innings with a lead. I thought it was the right time to pull him though. We worked him pretty hard in last week's Texas road trip. Jordan had been sitting for a while and he came out a little flat as well. They were swinging early on him and he was missing in the middle of the zone. Jordan though made some really good adjustments and got us deep into the game. Quite frankly our pitchers had to carry us through there because it was tough for us to score runs."
