Hear From Head Coach Steve Bieser
On the offense's turnaround Wednesday following a shaky performance Tuesday…
"These games are nice. It's always good to not play as much 'pressure baseball' all the time and the extra-inning games like we've been playing. It was a relief. Takeaways were AJ (James) getting going. He's a guy we've been counting on all year. To see him free up and get off some good swings. There was a lot of offensive production and it was good to see."
On the offense re-focusing after their performance against Saint Louis…
"We talked before we came out today. There was no excuse for the at bats we had. We had to make sure we were engaged in every pitch. You really saw that today for the first half of the game. I thought we did a good job of carrying that all the way through even though we didn't score later in the game. I thought our at bats were really special today. It's something we have to continue to be able to do."
On Springer's performance on the mound Wednesday…
"His breaking ball was going for him. He got off to a little slow start with his command, but whenever guys got on base he was able to make some big pitches to get out of it. He really settled in and threw the ball well."
