Storylines

  • Mizzou and Arkansas meet for the 51st time in their series history. Mizzou has faced just eight schools more times in its history than Arkansas. 
  • Mizzou is looking to avoid dropping below .500 for the first time in the Cuonzo Martin era. 
  • The Tigers have beaten the Razorbacks the last two times the teams have squared off in Columbia. Mizzou is looking for a third consecutive home win in the series vs. Arkansas for the first time since beating the Razorbacks at Mizzou Arena in 2006, 2013 and 2014. 
  • Mizzou is 2-2 in its last four meetings with Arkansas. Each of the last four meetings have been decided by 12 points or less. Mizzou led by as many as 13 in its loss in Fayetteville earlier this season.
  • Jeremiah Tilmon has averaged 13 points and 6.5 rebounds in Mizzou's last two outings vs. Arkansas.
  • Since Nov. 18, senior point guard Jordan Geist is averaging 14.7 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 39.6 percent from 3-point range and boasting a 1.65 assist-to-turnover ratio. He has reached double figures 16 times in the last 19 games. He has scored 15+ points in a game eight times this season after notching 15+ just six times in his previous two seasons combined. 
  • Mizzou has outrebounded its opponent 15 times in 22 games this season. Mizzou is limiting opponents to 34.0 rebounds per game during league play, which ranks fourth in the SEC behind Kentucky, Tennessee and LSU. Mizzou has snagged at least 30 boards in all but four games this season.
  • Mizzou has held opponents under 70 points 33 times in the Martin era, which amounts to 62.3 percent of the games with him at the helm. When the Tigers have done so this season, they are 11-1.  
  • Mizzou ranks second in the SEC in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 36.7 from beyond the arc. From 2012-17, Mizzou shot 32.4 percent from 3-point range. In the Martin era, Mizzou is shooting 37.7 percent from deep. The Tigers have made at least eight triples 16 times in 22 games this season.

Tilmon 

  • Sophomore standout forward Jeremiah Tilmon  was named SEC Player of the Week on Dec. 24, his first career conference award and Mizzou's first since Kassius Robertson on Feb. 12 of last season.
  • Tilmon scored 15+ points in three consecutive games for the first time in his career after totaling 19 points and eight rebounds vs. Vanderbilt. In those three outings, he averaged 16.3 PPG and 6.3 RPG while shooting 64.3 percent from the field and 81.3 percent from the free throw line.
  • Tilmon has played 27+ minutes in seven consecutive games for the first time in his career, posting eight points and five rebounds at No. 1 Tennessee. 
  • Tilmon is shooting a team-high 56.3 percent from the floor this season, which ranks fourth in the SEC. He's made 63 of his last 106 FG attempts (59.4 percent).
  • His career field goal percentage - 56.3 percent - ranks fourth all-time in program history.
  • Tilmon's production is key to the Tigers' success. In Mizzou's 11 wins, Tilmon is averaging 12.9 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the field. In Mizzou's losses, he's putting up 8.2 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 52 percent from the field. 
  • He has scored in double figures 24 times in his career. Mizzou is 20-4 in those games, including 9-3 this season. 
  • Tilmon has been dominant at home this season, reaching double figures in eight of 12 games thus far and posting three of his four double-doubles.
  • Per 40 minutes, Tilmon is averaging 17.3 points per game.
  • Saturday was the first game he missed since arriving on campus. He's started 54 times.

Trends

  • When Mizzou has committed fewer turnovers than its opponent this season, it is 8-1. In two games vs. Tennessee and Vanderbilt, Mizzou is has committed just 18 total turnovers (nine in each game), its lowest amount in back-to-back games this season and fewest since seven vs. Georgia in the 2018 SEC Tournament.
  • Mizzou continues to be a stout defensive team under Coach Martin. The Tigers rank fourth in the SEC in scoring defense, limiting opponents to 68.2 points per game. When Mizzou holds teams under 70 points, it is 11-1. The Tigers held Texas A&M to its fewest points of the season on Jan. 19 (43) and also held No. 1 Tennesee to its second-lowest scoring output of its season (72). 
  • Coach Martin has reached 31 victories at Mizzou in 54 games. That surpassed the previous Tiger coaching regime's win total (27 wins in 95 total games).
