Tiger outside hitter earns second consecutive All-American nod
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball junior Kylie Deberg was named a 2019 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Second-Team All-American, announced Wednesday by the organization.
Deberg secured her second consecutive All-American recognition, following her AVCA Honorable Mention award a season ago. The Hudson, Iowa, native becomes the sixth-ever Tiger to garner multiple All-American accolades. Additionally, Deberg is the ninth all-time Mizzou individual to receive either First, Second or Third-Team All-American recognition.
Since 2000, Mizzou has now tallied 23 total AVCA All-American awards. Furthermore, the Tigers have produced at least one All-American in 10 consecutive years (2010-19).
"This is an incredible recognition for Kylie and we're all so proud of her accomplishments on the court," said Mizzou Volleyball head coach Joshua Taylor. "Kylie truly had one of the top individual seasons in Mizzou history. She was a difference maker on the court each and every match. While we're clearly thrilled for Kylie, we also felt that others on the team were more than deserving for this honor. We have a lot of incredibly talented players in this program and it was a true team effort all season."

In 2019, Deberg produced one of the top individual single-seasons in Mizzou Volleyball history. She finished with 524 kills, 49 aces and 612.5 points to pace one of the NCAA's most electric offenses. Deberg's 524 kills and 4.72 kills per set were the most in Tiger single-season history.
The Tiger outside hitter became only the second Mizzou player in program history with 600-plus points in a single-season, joining Yvette Buhlig's 626.0 points in 1992. Additionally, Deberg's 5.52 points per set ranks second in Mizzou single-season history, while her 49 aces finished tied for seventh.
As the NCAA Volleyball world preps for this weekend's National Semifinals, Deberg currently ranks Top 25 in the nation in points per set (8th), total points (12th), kills per set (14th) and total kills (16th).
