
Mizzou Volleyball Earns Three 2019 SEC Postseason Awards

Deberg, Fuentes and Omazic named All-SEC
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Following another strong regular season, Mizzou Volleyball saw three individuals recognized in the annual Southeastern Conference postseason awards, announced Sunday by the league office.
Junior Kylie Deberg, redshirt sophomore Andrea Fuentes and junior Tyanna Omazic were each named All-SEC. Mizzou's three total All-SEC honorees rank tied for second amongst league members.
"It has been a great year for Mizzou Volleyball and Kylie, Andrea and Tyanna certainly played a big role into our success," said Mizzou Volleyball head coach Joshua Taylor. "While we're definitely happy with their individual honors, this 2019 season has been a true team effort and you can argue even more players deserved league recognition today. Everyone up and down the roster plays a big role into our overall success."

Sunday marks Deberg and Fuentes' second career honors from the SEC, while standing as Omazic's first career accolade. A season ago, Deberg was named All-SEC and Fuentes tallied SEC All-Freshman Team honors.
Mizzou now owns 25 total All-SEC award winners since joining its new conference in 2012. The Tigers have garnered at least three honorees in each of the past eight years.
Overall this season, Deberg paces the SEC in total kills (501), kills per set (4.82), total points (584.0) and points per set (5.62). The Hudson, Iowa, native has been named SEC Overall and Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. Heading into postseason play, Deberg's 584.0 points rank third in Mizzou single-season history, while her 501 kills ranks fifth.
Fuentes has been magnificent in orchesterating Mizzou's high-powered offense in 2019. Heading into the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers' .303 team hitting percentage ranks Top 5 in the country. Individually, the San Juan native's 11.75 assists per set also ranks Top 5 in the nation. Fuentes has been named the SEC Overall Player of the Week twice this year, while also garnering SEC Setter of the Week honors four times.
Omazic finished the regular season with an outstanding .388 hitting percentage, ranking Top 25 in the NCAA and third in the SEC. The Kansas City, Missouri, native has been an incredible model of consistency on offense this year, recording seven-plus kills on .400-plus hitting 16 times. Additionally, Omazic has recorded seven-plus kills on .500-plus hitting nine times and 10-plus overall kills in 15 matches.
