Mizzou Volleyball Sweeps South Carolina Sunday to Conclude Flawless Weekend inside Hearnes

Behind electric comeback in set two, Tigers defeat Gamecocks in straight sets
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Volleyball (18-6, 10-4 SEC) extended its current winning streak to four matches Sunday, as it claimed a straight-set (25-21, 27-25, 25-21) victory over South Carolina.
A wild second set stole the show Sunday inside the Hearnes Center, as the Tigers erased a 24-19 deficit and eventually produced a 27-25 set triumph. Mizzou concluded the thrilling set on an 8-1 scoring run to send the Tiger faithful into a frenzy.
The Tigers' attack improved each set against the Gamecocks, concluded by 20 kills on .429 hitting in the third and final set. Overall, Mizzou posted a .321 hitting percentage Sunday, marking its 12th match this season with .300-plus hitting.

"We're continuing to play solid volleyball. Leketor (Member-Meneh) and Kylie (Deberg) were really strong for us on the outside. Then in the middle, Kayla (Caffey) had another outstanding match. Without a doubt, the key to today's match was that remarkable comeback in set two. Our crew showed so much heart and determination. That gave us all the momentum and we were sharp in set three to close it out."

- Mizzou now leads the all-time series over South Carolina, 8-3.
- The Tigers are now 6-0 all-time against the Gamecocks in matches played in Columbia, Missouri.
- For the weekend, Mizzou won all six sets played and produced 100 kills (16.67 per set) on .363 hitting. Its defense was fantastic as well, limiting Georgia and South Carolina to 64 kills on .140 hitting. Mizzou's blocking efforts also stepped up, posting 15.0 total blocks (2.50 per set) across the pair of matches.
- Four of the Tigers' main attackers this weekend hit .330-plus. Caffey led the way with 20 kills on an eye-popping .667 hitting. Hollingsworth-Santana tallied 15 kills on .393 hitting, Member-Meneh recorded 24 kills on .385 hitting and Deberg posted 27 kills on .339 hitting.
- Pushing the buttons for the Tiger offense was Fuentes, who tallied 85 total assists (14.17 per set). The San Juan native recorded 40-plus assists in the sweeps over Georgia and South Carolina.
- Defensively, redshirt senior Riley Sents tallied 10-plus digs in each match and finished with 3.67 digs per set overall.

Mizzou begins its final road trip of the 2019 campaign Wednesday (Nov. 20) with a visit to No. 17 Kentucky. First serve in Lexington is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The Tigers then trek to Tennessee (Nov. 24) and Ole Miss (Nov. 27) to conclude the three-match road trip.
