Tigers take opening set, but offense struggles rest of night
COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 22 Mizzou Volleyball (10-4, 2-2 SEC) fell 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 27-29) Wednesday evening to Ole Miss inside the Hearnes Center. The Tigers were fantastic in the opening set, producing 18 kills on .459 hitting, but uncharacteristically fell flat in sets two through four.
The Rebels' blocking efforts were strong all night against the Tiger attack, recording 14.0 total blocks in all. Mizzou fell Wednesday despite tallying more kills, assists and digs then Ole Miss.
Despite the loss, three Tigers finished with double-digit kills, highlighted by junior Kylie Deberg's sixth-straight match with 20-plus kills. The Hudson, Iowa, native's 25 total kills against the Rebels matched her career-high. Additionally, Deberg produced her third double-double this year, matching redshirt sophomore Andrea Fuentes for the team lead.

Hear From Interim Head Coach Joshua Taylor
On Wednesday's loss to the Rebels…
"It was a disappointing night for sure. We came out so strong in set one and our offense was really clicking. The rest of the way however, we continued to shoot ourselves in the foot with some poor hitting choices. We have to continue to get better in maintaining focus and energy each and every set. We have a nice break coming up and hopefully we can use that time in getting healthier and resetting our mindset ahead of Auburn next Friday."
