Wright and Fukutoku to Represent Mizzou Tennis at ITA All-American Championships

Wright to compete in pre-qualifying competition, Wright and Fukutoku in compete in doubles competition
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis junior Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) and sophomore Lisa Fukutoku (Tokyo, Japan) will represent Mizzou at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships this weekend in Tulsa, Okla. Wright will compete in singles competition, while the pair will be in action in doubles competition.
Wright's pre-qualifying portion in singles competition is slated to take place Oct. 5-6. She is one of 96 student-athletes in the pre-qualifying draw, and will open the tournament by facing Wake Forest's Chandler Carter at 10:30 a.m. CT on Saturday. On the short season, Wright is 2-1 in both singles and doubles competition, having only competed at the Mizzou Invite (Sept. 20-22). In 2018-19, Wright went 15-15 in singles competition and 20-12 in doubles competition.
The doubles team will compete in the qualifying draw of doubles play, which is scheduled to take place Oct. 7-8. The duo is 2-1 in doubles competition as a team this season.
